INGREDIENTS LIST

1 Diamond Valley Gourmet savory dip mix package

1 lb cream cheese (2  8 oz bricks)

¼ cup finely ground nuts, pecans or walnuts

Red bell pepper for nose

7 peppercorns for eyes & mouth

Cheddar cheese for hair

Black olive slices for buttons

Green onions for arms & scarf

Small straw hat (optional)


SCARECROW CHEESEBALL INSTRUCTIONS


1.  Set out 1 lb cream cheese (2  8oz bricks) to soften at room temp.

2. Thoroughly blend together cream cheese and 1 package gourmet mix.

3. Weigh out 4oz for head (enough to make 2” ball), set aside.

4. Shape remaining cream cheese into body.

If cream cheese gets too soft, chill for a little while.

Set body firmly onto serving plate.

5. Head:  Shape into a ball & set on top of body. Push down a little so it stays on firmly.

6. Coat Scarecrow with ground nuts.


DECORATE SCARECROW

Use toothpick to push the ground nuts aside so the decorations stick to the cream cheese.


1. Nose:  Cut a triangle out of red bell pepper. Place and press into center of face.

2. Eyes: Use 2 large peppercorns. Press into place ¼” apart above nose.

3. Mouth:  Use 5 small peppercorns.  Press in place to form smile.

4. Buttons:  Press 2 black olive slices down front.

5. Scarf:  Slice green onion top lengthwise & flatten out. Cut ½” wide strips.

Wrap around neck & overlap ends to one side.  Secure with toothpicks.

Take another strip, fold it in half & secure it over neck band.

6.  Hair:  Grate cheddar cheese.  Lay strands around head to make hair.

Set straw hat on top of head.  You can use toothpicks to hold it.

7. Arms: Cut 2 green onions 2” from root ends.  Push ½” in at sides of body.

INGREDIENTS LIST


1 Diamond Valley Gourmet dessert or savory dip mix package

1 lb cream cheese (2  8 oz bricks)

1 pkg flaked coconut (shredded coconut is too stringy)

2 brown mini M&M’s for eyes

3 regular size M&M’s for buttons

5 mini chocolate chips for mouth

1 carrot tip for nose, ¾” long

2  pretzel sticks for arms

Red Twizzlers licorice for scarf & hatband

1 felt or plastic 1 ¼” tall top hat (optional)


“SWEET” SNOWMAN CHEESE BALL INSTRUCTIONS

(Omit whipped topping for cheese ball)


1.  Set out 1 lb cream cheese (2 8 oz bricks) to soften at room temp.

2.  Dissolve 1 pkg Dessert Mix with ¼ cup boiling water.

3.  Add the softened cream cheese & mix thoroughly.

4.  Taste after blending, if you like it sweeter, add granulated sugar a little at a time.

5.  Weigh out 4 oz for head (enough to make 2” ball), set aside until later.

6.  Shape remaining cream cheese into body:

2 ½”-3” tall (tapered to 1½” wide at top) & 2½”-3” wide at base.

If cream cheese gets too soft, chill for a little while.

Set body firmly onto serving plate.

7.  Head: Shape into a ball & set on top of body. Push down a little so it stays on firmly.

8.  Cover entire snowman with flaked coconut.


“SAVORY” SNOWMAN CHEESEBALL


1.  Set out 1 lb cream cheese (2  8 oz bricks) to soften at room temp.

2.  Thoroughly blend together cream cheese and 1 package gourmet mix.

Follow “SWEET” instructions steps #5-#7.

Cover entire snowman with grated parmesan cheese.


DECORATE “SWEET SNOWMAN”

Use a toothpick to push the coconut flakes aside so the carrot & candies stick to cream cheese.


1.  Nose: Cut ¾” off tip of carrot.  Push into center of face about ¼” deep.

2.  Eyes: 2 brown mini M&M’s.  Push into place ¼” apart.

3.  Mouth: 5 mini chocolate chips.  Push points of chips into cream cheese to form a smile.

4.  Buttons: 3 regular size M&M’s.  Place down front of body.

5.  Scarf: Peel off 3 or 4 strands of red Twizzler licorice.  Wrap around neck & overlap at side of neck.  You can use a toothpick to hold scarf down or moisten licorice so it will stick together.

6.  Push pretzels into sides of body to make arms.

7.  Optional Hat: Wrap 1 long strand of licorice twice around hat.  Moisten ends so they will stick together. Set hat on snowman.


DECORATE “SAVORY”  SNOWMAN


1.  Nose: Make same as “sweet” snowman.

2.  Eyes & Mouth: You can use whole peppercorns.

3.  Buttons: You can use sliced green olives with pimento centers.

4.  Scarf:  Red “Twizzler” licorice looks cutest.

Follow steps #6 & #7 to finish.
